Tammy de Soto Cicchetti, is President of The Cicchetti Law Firm, which she established in April of 1997. Prior to establishing the Firm, Ms. Cicchetti was the managing partner for a Tallahassee law firm specializing in insurance defense work and large personal injury and medical malpractice matters.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Cicchetti was an accomplished musician, which included a tour through Europe in 1985.
Ms. Cicchetti was graduated, with honors, from the Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, in 1988, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and a minor in Political Science. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in three years. In 1991, Ms. Cicchetti received a Juris Doctor degree from the Florida State University College of Law and became a member of The Florida Bar.

During law school, Ms. Cicchetti was employed as a law clerk for a law firm specializing in medical malpractice litigation and a law firm specializing in administrative law and civil litigation. Ms. Cicchetti was also an active member in the Gold Key and Phi Eta Sigma honor societies. In 1990, Ms. Cicchetti was awarded the first Florida State University Book Award for Administrative Practice, earning a perfect score. Ms. Cicchetti was also listed in “Who’s Who Among American Law Students.”
In 1991, following her admission to the Florida Bar, Ms. Cicchetti joined the law firm of Callahan, Dobbins & Derr, P.A., as an associate attorney, practicing civil litigation in the areas of serious personal injury and wrongful death, medical malpractice and insurance defense litigation. Ms. Cicchetti tried her first jury trial, with success, at age 24.
Three years after she joined the law firm, Ms. Cicchetti became the managing partner, forming Callahan & Cicchetti, P.A.. As a partner, Ms. Cicchetti acted as lead counsel on many civil litigation matters.
In 1997, Ms. Cicchetti established The Cicchetti Law Firm.
Ms. Cicchetti is a member of: Keiser University, Board of Directors; and a former member of the American Bar Association; Zonta Club International; Florida Defense Lawyers’ Association; Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society; Gold Key Honor Society; Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Board of Directors; Tiger Shark Charities of the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks Hockey Club, Inc.; the Executive Committee of the Tallahassee Sports Council; National Association for Women in Construction; Tallahassee Builders’ Association and Defense Research International.
Ms. Cicchetti was appointed to and served on the Second Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee for the Florida Bar, which regulates the practice of law by Florida lawyers. In 2001, Ms. Cicchetti was appointed Special Counsel to the Florida Bar to investigate a disciplinary matter involving a number of Florida lawyers. Ms. Cicchetti is an active member of the Florida Bar, the Tallahassee Bar Association, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the Tallahassee Women Lawyers’ Association, the Florida Academy of Women Lawyers, the Tallahassee Chapter of American Inns of Court and is included in the National Register’s Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals.
Ms. Cicchetti was selected as the National Businesswoman of the Year 2004, 2005 and 2006 for the State of Florida by the President of the United States Business Advisory Council. Ms. Cicchetti also currently serves as the co-chairman for the State of Florida for the President’s National Business Advisory Council and provides advice to the leadership as an appointed member of the United States Presidential Business Commission.
In 2006, Ms. Cicchetti was selected by the National Republican Congressional Committee Business Advisory Council and received personal invitations to both Presidential Inauguations.
In 2006 and 2007, Tammy de Soto Cicchetti was awarded the Congressional Order of Merit by The Chairman and Executive Council of the National Republican Congressional Committee.
Ms. Cicchetti was also recently nominated and accepted as Honorary Chairman from the State of Florida for the House Majority Trust by Speaker of the House, Dennis Hastert and invited to The 2006 President’s Dinner with President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush and the Annual Majority Trust Board Meeting in Washington with Republican Members of the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, followed by lunch with Senator John McCain.
Ms. Cicchetti has been approved as a biographical candidate to represent her industry in the 2006-2007 “Honors Edition” of the Madison Who’s Who Among Executives and Professionals. She further has been selected as a candidate for inclusion in the 2006 Edition of The United Who’s Who Registry. Ms. Cicchetti is listed as a Florida “Super Lawyer”, in a listing of Florida’s top attorneys in the 2006 and 2008 publication.
In July 2006, Tammy de Soto Cicchetti received the Governor Jeb Bush's Appointment to the Judicial Nominating Committee, Second Judicial Circuit; she currently serves under Governor Charlie Crist.
Ms. Cicchetti adopted The Shelter, a local Tallahassee, Florida organization providing services and lodging to the homeless as the Firm's signature charity in 1997. In November of 2007, the Firm was proud to accept from The Shelter a plaque for its outstanding generous support.
Ms. Cicchetti practices in state court in Florida and has been admitted to practice in the United States Federal District Court for the Northern District Court of Florida. Ms. Cicchetti has also practiced before the Administrative law court.
Ms. Cicchetti's areas of practice include all aspects of insurance law, medical and legal malpractice, serious injury and wrongful death, business, corporate and commercial litigation, appellate law and insurance matters, including insurance defense.
Ms. Cicchetti handles matters at the trial and appellate levels.
